Message from Our Founder
In the United States, it is estimated that roughly 47 million households are experiencing food insecurity and over 770,000 men, women, and children are experiencing homelessness. In California alone, nearly 187,000 people are living without stable shelter, although it is likely higher than reported. Every day, far too many of us go without basic human necessities like fresh food, clean water, clothing, hygiene supplies, and safe shelter. I believe these are fundamental rights every person is entitled to from birth. Until our systems reflect this truth, I am committed to being as hands-on as possible—tangibly meeting the immediate needs of our neighbors with the dignity, love, care, and respect they deserve.
